From Namecheap, navigate to URL Forwarding located under Host Management

Enter your Heroku URL ending with “.” and set the Record Type as CNAME

Add your domain to Heroku with “www” prepended

It may take up to 24 hours for changes to take effect.

Visiting the custom domain from General Info seemed to expedite the process.
